Train-the-Trainer – New Jersey’s Paid Dining Assistant Curriculum for Nursing Homes

The New Jersey Department of Health has approved a paid dining assistant curriculum for nursing homes that is compliant with CMS regulations for employing paid dining assistants. This webinar is designed as a train-the-trainer session for primary instructors who are registered nurses, as well as other members of the team (dietitians, occupational therapist, speech language pathologists, etc.) who may be involved in training paid dining assistants. In order to conduct a paid dining assistant program, the primary instructor must have completed a train-the-trainer session.



  • Understand the regulatory requirements for a paid dining assistant program
  • Learn the content that must be covered in a paid dining assistant training program
  • Describe the key steps in implementing the program and the competency assessment requirements
