Founded in 1966, CARF International is an independent, nonprofit accreditor of a variety of Aging Services programs and the largest accreditor of Assisted Living Programs in the world. CARF International is part of the NJ Department of Health Deemed Status program for Assisted Living facilities, and uses person-centered standards and a peer-surveyor model to provide consultative feedback to organizations in business and care delivery practices. CARF International also offers accreditation for Independent Senior Living, CCRCs, Person-Centered LTC Communities and Dementia Care Specialty Programs in the U.S., Canada, China, U.A.E., and Ireland
