HCANJ’s Office of Emergency Management has as its primary goal the protection of our members and their residents, as well as the facilities themselves. The office helps members to plan, prepare, and respond to potential emergencies and disasters that may occur in their areas. This includes assisting in coordination with local, county and state agencies, public health departments, first responders, and community organizations to minimize the damage caused by natural disasters, technological incidents, or any other emergencies.
The office can assist members in developing emergency plans and procedures and provides training and drills so that they are prepared before an emergency occurs. During an emergency, the office serves as a communication hub and liaison between the member(s) and the different agencies involved in the response to the situation.
HCANJ is committed to providing comprehensive emergency communication to each of our member facilities. Through our emergency notification system, Amerilert, each of our members can be enabled to receive real-time alerts via text and/or email regarding emergencies including weather, public health, and other safety-related events.
