Agency for Health Care Policy and Research
The Agency for Healthcare Research and Quality (AHRQ) is the lead federal agency charged with improving the safety and quality of health care for all Americans. AHRQ develops the knowledge, tools, and data needed to improve the health care system and help consumers, health care professionals, and policymakers make informed health decisions.
Involvement in Alcoholics Anonymous (AA) is an important psychosocial factor for the recovery of alcohol-dependent individuals. Recent studies have confirmed the beneficial role of involvement in AA for abstinence and reduction in drinking alcohol.
American Health Care Association/National Center for Assisted Living (AHCA/NCAL)

Centers for Medicare and Medicaid Services (CMS)
CMS is the federal agency that provides health coverage to more than 160 million through Medicare, Medicaid, the Children’s Health Insurance Program, and the Health Insurance Marketplace. CMS works in partnership with the entire health care community to improve quality, equity and outcomes in the health care system.
Medicaid provides health coverage to millions of Americans, including eligible low-income adults, children, pregnant women, elderly adults and people with disabilities. Medicaid is administered by states, according to federal requirements. The program is funded jointly by states and the federal government.
Medicare is a broad program of health insurance designed to assist the nation’s elderly to meet hospital, medical, and other health costs. Medicare is available to most individuals 65 years of age and older and some people under 65 with certain disabilities or conditions.
National Institute of Aging (NIA)
NIA leads a broad scientific effort to understand the nature of aging and to extend the healthy, active years of life. NIA is the primary federal agency supporting and conducting Alzheimer’s disease research.
National Institutes of Health (NIH)
NIH’s mission is to seek fundamental knowledge about the nature and behavior of living systems and the application of that knowledge to enhance health, lengthen life, and reduce illness and disability.

New Jersey Department of Military and Veterans Services
Provides the state’s veterans and their dependents with information and guidance in filing claims. Trained Veterans Service Officers at these offices also assist veterans with issues pertaining to employment, education, burial, counseling, housing, social and medical services, and other areas of concern to veterans and their families.
